The Lexington Athletic Club expansion project is well underway. The former Kids Place space is currently be being transformed into several new spaces for LAC. The first being a major weight room expansion that will almost double the size of the current free weight area to 10,000 square feet. The second is a indoor soccer field that can be divided into two mini futsal fields that will be rented to local soccer clubs. The third is a new 2500 sq foot physical therapy space and treatment area that will have its own entrance at the front of LAC. And finally, the downstairs hallway and handicap access is being relocated and shifted to the other side of the stairs while the new Playroom and four single bathrooms will be located off the new hallway.

Timelines:
The soccer turf and materials will probably arrive first and installation should be underway by mid-September. New equipment for the weight room will begin arriving in late August through late September and will be stored until the weight room flooring arrives and is installed in mid-October. The physical therapy space and playroom relocation are currently underway.
Look for an expanded post on the weight room expansion and one on the soccer turf expansion soon.
